  A wonderful creative space, just of the popular Calle San Francisco. I found this space by accident and so happy that I did. I watched spoken word, poetry and music at this venue (all in Spanish - I speak English) understand the passion in the performance even though I did not understand what was being said. I also performed some original and popular sings in English at this venue and was amazed by the response. I will visit anytime I am in Alicante.

  El Refugio is one of the little places that have brought art into our city. They are especially known for their Poetic Jam on Fridays, but they hold events most nights. Check which ones you like! The owner is very nice and tostas are DELICIOUS (you will have to wait for a while, but i'll be worth it) and vegetarian-friendly :)
